Duque de Viseu 2000 Dao, Portugal, Case of 12 This wine is made at the Quinta dos Carvalhais winery in the heart of the Dao region. Vines are planted on granite soils, which stress the plant and give sought-after low yields. The blend is a combination of Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz. When vinified, the wine is left to mature 12 months in new oak barrels. Oyster Bay Chardonnay 2002/03 Marlborough, New Zealand, Case of 12 Chardonnay vines grown on dry stony old river beds in the Marlborough region send their roots deep to seek out moisture and nutrients. In the process they absorb tiny amounts of minerals. As in the Loire and Chablis, this wine has a smoky, flinty overlay to the delicate nectarine/melon fruit and gentle buttery oak character. Enjoy with trout, salmon, seafood, chicken or pork. White wine Waitrose Wine White Wine White Wine

Saint-Véran 2003 Blason de Bourgogne, Burgundy, France, Case of 12 This soft, gentle Chardonnay from vineyards in the south of Burgundy is a real contrast to the big, brash wine examples we sometimes find in the New World. The wines of Saint-Véran have a touch of the Mâcon rustic edge, but equally can have an elegance and refinement to offset this. These characters make this wine a brilliant food wine - one which is at its best when accompanying chicken or fish dishes. White wine Waitrose Wine White Wine White Wine

Douglas Green Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 Western Cape, South Africa, Case of 12 The range of Douglas Green wines is very stylish, both in terms of the wine in the bottle and the label on the outside.
